Today I’m partnering with Piper & Scoot to bring you all some fall transitional outfit ideas starring one of our favorite comeback kids: the jumper. As a 90’s kid, I have few complaints about it’s return to the mainstream. I’m sure it’s getting a lot of eye rolls, but none from this lady!
I’ve taken the Femme Dress and styled it five different ways as a bit of inspiration for all the rest of my 90’s lovers out there. I’ve added some modern twists so don’t be too afraid. Though I don’t know that I would cry over pairing this with a pair of keds.
For the first look I paired the dress with my favorite short sleeve top from Tradlands, long brimmed fedora from Madewell and loafers from Hudson shoes. It’s a pretty effortless look to put together and I think the addition of the hat is the perfect transitional accessory to get us going into the cooler months.
The next look is similar using the same style hat but I’ve switched up the shirt to a soft tee and traded the loafers for boots. A good pair of short boots will cover you through those strange weeks that aren’t sure if they are summer or fall. I loved this tee under the dress because it was so comfortable but also added some femininity to the look with the watercolor floral pattern.
This next one is one of my favorites. You all know my moderate obsession with the neckscarf. Well, here’s one of my favorites playing the monochrome game with the olive green sweater paired under the dress. I picked a short sleeve sweater since our days are still on the warmer side with evenings that bring a small chill. It’s thick enough to add a touch of extra warmth but thin enough that I could layer under a chunkier knit or jacket.
This top gives me all the feels everytime I see it. I snagged it in clearance from the Loft last season and wore it all throughout fall to hide my slowly growing pregnant belly. The high neck gives a little extra coverage from fall breezes while the light, eyelet material leaves room for some summer heat.
Who doesn’t love a good, gingham shirt? This is my favorite at the moment from Madewell. I’ve never thought to pair a button down with a jumper, but the cream in the check matched the dress so perfectly I thought I would give it a try. Turns out, it works just fine! To balance out the “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm” vibes from the gingham and apron cut, I added a pair of suede heels the just so happen to match my bag perfectly. Victory.
I also added this sleeveless wool trench as an extra layer of warmth just in case. It’s sleeveless so it’s not going to overwhelm you with heat, but still heavy enough to bring a bit of extra comfort.
Hoping you found some inspiration from these looks for your transitional wardrobe! This is my absolute favorite season and with the temperature cooling a bit each day, I’m itching for full fall looks with cozy sweaters, knee high boots and scarves. YES PLEASE!
Until next time,
