First of all, I’m so thrilled to be back with Wardrobe Confidential! If you read my most recent post on being kinder to self, you’ll know that I’m working on dressing in more than just leggings and sweatshirts. This is sometimes a more challenging decision for me because A. I work from home and B. I’m currently 6 months pregnant. While I wasn’t gaining a lot of actual weight in the first few months, I experienced a lot of water retention which made it hard to find clothes that worked for me.
Once I got to the point where I was actually experiencing weight gain, I felt like I could justify some closet shopping. My goal was to find clothes that fit at 4 months and would continue throughout the remainder of my pregnancy and into nursing. My first experience maternity shopping left me nearly in tears. Everything was so frumpy and tent like. It left my body feeling anything but flattered and my psyche anything but at ease.
So, I started the hunt. I wanted to find clothes that were figure flattering but that also didn’t make me feel like I had given up on who I am when it comes to style. I began to understand from just a glance what would work with just a size up and what I needed in maternity sizes.
While searching, I stumbled upon PinkBlush. The first time I scanned the site, I could feel myself breathing a sigh of relief. I felt hopeful and excited to be shopping for clothes again for the first time in months! They have a huge range of designs that crossover nearly any style preference. Most of the cuts are effortless while still making a statement. My favorites pieces are the maternity dresses that make getting dressed as easy as pie with just one piece to an outfit.
My first piece from the site is this stunner photographed above. I’m not typically a floral print kind of girl, but I’ve struggled so much to feel feminine lately that I thought I’d give it a try. Best decision ever. As soon as I unboxed the maternity dress and slipped it on, I suddenly felt more graceful. The fabric glided right over my expanding belly and hugged all the right places to remind people that there’s a real person under there. I can’t say enough good things about it and I can’t wait to wear it throughout the rest of my pregnancy and during the summer months while my body is recovering from delivery!
Before I go, I just have to give my husband some kudos. I’m teaching him about photography so that he can help out a little more around R&T and he was a champ on this shoot! He was so patient as I taught him about camera settings and nitpicked frames in between shots. My love for him is eternal and I’m so thankful for his constant willingness to further my passions.
Last thing! I will be hosting a PinkBlush giveaway for a $75 gift card on my Instagram beginning tonight! Visit the post for all the details on how to enter.
