This Sunday finds me away from my computer and still at work. Marian had the Spring Market at the Old Lucketts Store this weekend and we have been busy preparing since Wednesday. This post is finding me predicting how it’s all going to go, but with this being my third year helping out, I’m pretty sure that this post is going to find me exhausted and ready for quality time in bed.
Not only is Lucketts finally behind me, my schedule as a whole will be clearing up substantially this week. Something that hasn’t happened for quite some time now. While I can’t promise what I will be doing when I return home, I can tell you what I’m currently dreaming about: a hot bath with plenty of pampering for my aching bones.
Whenever I need to relax, I go for a bath. There’s nothing like piping hot water to soothe and aches to the body and soul. To start, I’ll get the water running, light a candle and get my favorite bath products out. Thanks to Santa (hi, Mom.), I am usually pretty well stocked with Lush bath bombs. My favorites are the Avobath, Honeybee and Butterball- though I’ve never tried one I haven’t liked.
While soaking, I like to take the time to shave my legs. I’ll be honest- I struggle with remembering this task. Before you judge me, be honest with yourself. It happens, ladies. Life is busy and sometimes, legs are fuzzy. Life goes on! So while I have a few minutes just to myself, I like to grab some conditioning soap and take care of tidying up the fur. Recently, I’ve been LOVING the Keats Handcrafted soaps! They are 100% natural and have skin loving ingredients like shea butter, olive oil, and French clay that leave skin softer than silk. It’s gentle enough even for the face and has come in handy a few times after I ran short on face wash.
Once I’m out of the tub, I’ll put some of my favorite Burt’s Bees lotion on. I have begun to use essential oils. I know, I know. I’m late to this bandwagon, but I found all the options out there confusing and overwhelming. So I’ve started small and picked up a few at the grocery store. When I’m feeling worn out, I’ll take a few drops of Peppermint and apply them to my temples. It really helps to boost my spirits and refresh my mind.
Once I have my hair brushed and tossed into a bun, jammies on and candle transferred to my bedroom, I’ll grab my stack of current reads and cozy up for a little quiet time. Being such an introvert, I am really sensitive to sounds. So after hearing non stop noise for days and days, my ears get tired and I need some time of silence. Reading provides the perfect environment for the stillness.
I hope you have all enjoyed your Sunday and that it was a little slower than mine ended up! Be sure to share them with me on Instagram with #RTSlowSundays.
Until next time!
