Hello, Beauts! Alright. Here it is. The time of year we all seem to dread for one reason or another. Whether we’re single and sick of being reminded or in the I-don’t-know-what-to-call-us stage or even in the full blown relationship, there’s struggles for us all. I’ll be honest: I glorify Valentine’s Day. Now, before you judge me too harshly, let me explain. My birthday falls the day before Valentine’s so obviously, as a child I thought it was a personal holiday dedicated to my presence on the earth (*note: I was more ignorant than arrogant*). So I have always loved all the hearts and red goodness that fill the shops around the middle of January.
Of course, as I grew older, I fell in love with the idea of Valentine’s letting my expectations grow and grow into this giant of great hopes and dreams. Alas, as I have become a married adult I have realized that these expectations are frivolous at best and cater to a demographic of men that pretty much only exist in movies. Never the less, I do love to put a lot of time and thought into my Valentine’s every year. David and I have a wonderful trip planned this year and I think after 4 years of celebrating, we may have a winner on our hands.
As far as gifts go, I will say this: speak from the heart and don’t worry about the rest. David and I tend to keep our priorities on spending time together so we usually spend more on activities and a bit less on gifts, but here are a few things for both the men and women in your lives that would be sweet little reminders of how much you adore them.
*Also- I vote everyone in your life as qualifiers for these. So if you’re walking that single road, treat a friend, sibling or heck, even yourself!*
There she blows! Hope you found some inspiration for the big day! If not, I tried to make sure that everything I picked up could be easily translated to any other gift giving occasion. So go ahead and bookmark these ideas for the next one!
Until next time!
